Quote of 2010 was made via Twitter by Mark Thomas, "Kay Burley describes students as 'insurgents' but still not quite as outrageous
as describing herself as a 'journalist'".
In 2010 I think it is fair to say that BP created history by destroying our future, with our past.
We also saw that the starting premise that the free market is a perfect scientific system, one in which individuals acting on their
own self-interested desires create the maximum benefits for all, was not only deeply flawed and false in 2010. However, as usual
noticeably little will change and nothing will be learnt from another failure.
If Trident is a nuclear deterrent, in my book it means that it can never be fired as a weapon, otherwise it's no longer a deterrent
but a failure. So therefore, why not scrap trident, use our special relationship with the United States and save the country 76
billion pounds a year and maybe even put some of that towards eductation and student fees.
Many sensible projects faced red-tape over health and safety issues throughout the year, but still not a single train was fitted with
a seat-belt, which seems odd in view of their health and safety implications...
Recently there have been many anti-government protests around the world mainly to do with corruption and austerity measures. In the UK (home to the mother of all parliaments)
the Met Police have been using their infamous kettling tactic to round up and piss off as many protestors as possible into as small a space
as they can find. I think it's the police's idea of fun. Since the incident with Prince Charles and Camilla, instead of blaming the police for
failing to do their job and protect the future King they directed him into a mob, there is now talk that maybe the police will in the future
possibly use water cannons to control protestors. Soon there will be a politician or a news reporter who will say something like, "why not crack out
the 3-Quinuclidinyl Benzilate"
In protest of the Met Police's aggressive kettling tactics when your kettle breaks
please keep it safe, wrap it up, or just put a label and some stamps on it and send it to:
Kettle New Scotland Yard, New Scotland Yard, 8-10 Broadway, Westminster, London, SW1H 0BG
To make this idea even more effective, don't send your kettle to the police until the 1st April 2011, one for the comedy value and secondly so they receive more
than just one kettle:)
Kay Burley gets heckled by protestors on SkyNews. My favourite heckles are, "Sky news is shit, watch the BBC" and also, "sack Kay
Burley".
Adam Boulton and Alastair Campbell voice a differing opinion, in other words they argue like school boys!
